10 Christmas Gifts | Shop Independent

Around this time of year a lot of us, including me, are guilty of only doing our Christmas shopping in the main high street retailers. I'm talking the Topshops, New Look, Argos, Marks and Spencers etc etc... and in the blur of the holidays, we completely forget about the smaller independent shops around us that sell some amazing gifts that friends and family would love! It is also so important to support smaller companies and independent retailers, especially around Christmas. So here is a post all about my favourite gifts that I have found from smaller brands around the UK. Enjoy...

1. Ocelot Chocolate - I mean, chocolate is such a massive part of Christmas for me and also a perfect gift for anyone. Ocelot do large whole slabs of chocolate with millions of different extra flavours to pick from. The packaging is also stunning, making it a fab and classy gift for the chocoholics out there!

2. House Of Bricks Pom Pom Earrings - as I mentioned in the '10 Christmas Gifts For Her' post, this year is definitely the year for statement earrings. And when I found these over the summer, I couldn't resist buying a couple of pairs. Alongside the retro clothing that this company sells, they also sell hoop pom pom earrings in all different colours. They are absolutely gorgeous and such a fun way to jazz up any plain outfit. I have the maroon pair and the bright pink pair which I wore at Creamfields with year (see the post here).

3. LaPomPom Shop - Just incase House of Bricks doesn't quite satisfy all of your Pom Pom needs, this store - based on etsy - do very similar earrings, but also other accessories, including some seriously cute gifts for children.

4. NikkiStrange Stationery - now this is the shop for any stationary lovers out there. Nikki Strange make beautiful notebooks and diaries in all shapes and sizes, . They would be a perfect gift for any school or university students for Christmas.

5. Maggs London - I've followed Hannah for many many years now on both instagram and youtube, so when she started up Maggs London a few years ago, I was so excited. She sells stunning makeup bags, as well as gorgeous wall prints and has just recently bought out her first candle, which smells very similar to the White Company Winter candle.

6. Jacvanek - Again, another one I've followed on Instagram for far too many years now. Jac Vanek specialise in slogan (mainly sarcastic and hilariously sassy) t-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs and other bits and pieces. Head over to her website to have a giggle at some of the slogans.

7. Original Monkey - this company specialises in personalised gifts with a twist. They hand personalise pieces such as Cheese boards, coat hangers, jewellery boxes and so much more. My personal favourite is the 'Christmas eve Box' that would be such a sweet gift for the younger kids, that they could keep and reuse in following years.

8. Harrow & Green - another one for all you personalised gift lovers. I absolutely love the christmas sacks that they do. They are such a cute idea for everyone who is celebrating Christmas, however especially for children as they can keep them for future use.

9. Plant and Grow - this is a sustainable company that makes plant kits where you can 'grow your own cocktail' or 'grow your own baking kit'. All of the packaging is compostable and they focus on educating the user on the different plants, cooking and food waste. This is such a unique gift for anyone interested in gardening, or baking/cocktail making with a twist...

10. Keelham Farm Shop - if you're a fan of a hamper, you will love this company. They have been specialists in food and farming for 3 whole generations and make the most amazing hampers, which are locally sourced from Yorkshire. From a Christmas Beer Box, to a Yorkshire Tea box, there is something for everyone! I've got my eye on the 'Spoil yourself Rotten' box in particular...!

So that's it you lovely lot, my top 10 picks for Christmas from the smaller or independent shops/companies out there. I hope you found this useful and inspiring for some christmas gift ideas. I would highly recommend buying from any of these brands, and remember shopping small really does help everyone out, especially around Christmas time!

Lots of Christmas Love, Katie xo
