Why A Certain Club Has Stolen My Heart...

I know what you're thinking - what is Katie on about this time... but hear me out! I can kind of justify myself...

Since moving to Newcastle this time last year, I started going out clubbing a lot more than I used to. I was always the youngest in my year and regardless of the countless fake IDs I tried, they never really worked - surprise surprise! I then went on a gap year and travelled/worked for the majority of it, so when September rolled around and I moved up to the Toon, we hit the clubs hard. If you know Newcastle well, you'll know that most of the clubs and bars are found on one street/area, and the first place that most people go on a night out is Soho Rooms - or is that just me? So, here goes nothing, this blog post is dedicated to the one and only, the man, the myth, the my legend, Soho.

1. It's open 6 days a week (excluding Sundays - but I'm usually too full of sunday Roast to bother with going out anyways!)

2. The music is FAB - If your music tastes are as 'basic' as mine, i.e. anything in the charts/anything you can dance to, you will love a good boogie in Soho. If you're anything like my flat mates who love Digi and Cosmic, you will hate it (sorry guys!). They also hated when my answer to "Where shall we go tonight?" was always, without fail "Soho is always a good shout".

3. It's right next to Flares - The cheesiest place on earth with the exception of Pop World. 'Floho' is a dream night for any girls night out. With ABBA, Steps, Justin Bieber and TLC on repeat, you can never go wrong. Just be aware of the middle aged men in Flares, they're not always so fun!

4. It's free! That is music to any students ears right?

5. Just read this really...

6. It's not too big, and not too small - being a shortish person I easily lose everyone on a night out and don't have the height to stare over the crowds. Soho only has two floors and three rooms, meaning it only takes be roughly 5 minutes to run around like a loner trying to find everyone, but at the same time it's never too crowded (usually...).

7. It always has a photographer - I mean if you didn't get the club photo, did you even go out?

8. Blueberry Trebles - Like Liverpool is known for their Quad Vods, Newcastle is known for the Treble. There are 8 Trebles bars in Newcastle (Soho, Sinners, Mimo, Bijoux, Basement, Gotham Town, Circuit 1 and Empress), but in my opinion Soho's the best...(if you couldn't tell already). They're also the only ones that do blueberry trebles which are my favourite. 2 Trebles and a Jager for £6 - come to mama!

And that's the end of this extremely random/odd post! I hope you enjoyed reading and if you're ever in Newcastle head in to Soho - you won't regret it!

Lots of Love, Katie xo
