A Splash Of Peach, Rose And All Things 'Millenial Pink'

Whilst growing up we've all been through a fair few phases. Tomboy? Check. Block fringe? Been there. Wearing jeans under dresses? Done that...and yes I have the pictures... However one that I have never been able to put to bed once and for all is my 'Girly girl' phase. It's stuck with me for nearly 20 years now, and I have no shame. Ok, ok so maybe I don't wear my Hello Kitty light up trainers any more and my pink frilly dresses have been well and truly binned, but there is (and always will be) a small sparkle of girliness in me. Whether that be in my wardrobe, room, makeup or mannerisms.

Recently, the colour 'Millenial Pink' (whatever that is...) has littered my Instagram and Pinterest feeds and without me realising, it has somehow snuck into my shopping basket one too many times. So I thought I would take the time to throw together a little blog post of all thinks pink, peachy and pretty!

The first place where I noticed the pink accumulating is in my wardrobe. It all started with the pink skirt of dreams. This skirt from topshop (similar found here) is a metallic pink number in their standard denim skirt shape. It is so easy to just throw on with a simple crop top or t-shirt and instantly looks like you've made an effort. I paired it with this Victoria Secret bralette and this crop top from Pretty Little Thing. In my opinion a simple top is best to let the skirt do all the talking!

Whilst on holiday I treated myself to this pink jumper from Abercrombie and Fitch. Abercrombie is a shop that I would never venture into back at home as its super expensive, however in the US its nearly half price so I could justify it...just! The jumper is a thin knit with bell sleeves that are tightened around your wrists by two ties. It is a muted pink colour and I have been pairing it with blue jeans and also tucked into my denim skirt with a pair of white trainers - very 5 year old-esque, but my style through and through! You can find a similar jumper here if you're interested.

Finally, I caved and bought an adidas jumper. I know, I know, this is not me at all. But I kinda love it! I've been wearing this snuggly sweatshirt to the gym or just whilst pottering around the house. It is a beautfiul baby pink, which really compliments blond hair and overall it makes me feel like a bit of a barbie...if Barbie ever wore tracksuit tops?

Shock horror Katie bought another eyeshadow palette. And guess what, it's pink! Yes, I caved and bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. It was just too pretty and I couldn't resist. It has so many beautiful shades, including some that I already wear day in day out - hello goldy, coppery, bronzey browns (queen of descriptions right here) - and a few that I am yet to play with, in particular the reddy pinks. I will 100% be cracking them out when I go to Creamfields in T - 11 days (ahhhhhhh!).

Whilst snooping for other things to include in this blog post I came across an old mascara favourite. The Too Faced Better Than Sex (I know awful / and in some cases true name) is a good choice if you like big messy lashes with lots of volume. It can be a bit clumpy if applied too thickly, however it stays on all night for me and people always ask me what mascara I have on when this is the culprit.

Over the last few years my criteria for lip products has been number 1 matte and number 2 it must pass the Burger Test. However I have actually bought two, yes you heard me right two, lipglosses in the last month. One is the Loreal Cream Lipgloss in Nude which is a shimmer free, non sticky lipgloss that wears very nicely on the lips. I have been wearing this to work when I need something that won't leave a weird ring of colour around my lips, whilst not looking too full on. The second - and admittedly the most exciting - is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipgloss in Parfait. This is a shimmer packed pinky peachy gloss that is actually very long lasting. I am planning on wearing this to Creamfields, so I will report back with a review very very soon.

I am a big fan of Rose Gold. I find it flatters my skin tone way better than yellow gold or silver that tends to wash me out. A few months ago I did the most spontaneous thing I have ever done. I got my seconds and cartilage pierced. I know, how scandalous... ! Anyways, ever since then I have been really enjoying buying earrings and trying out different combinations. The girls and I went on a shopping spree and ended up in Claires. I'd put a safe bet on to say that collectively we probably now own all of their 2017 stock! Although they looked fab, my rose gold hoops have now turned green and I think it may be time for their retirement. So I treat myself to a new pair from Topshop. These are from their Freedom range and are called the Star Thread Through Earrings. They are so dainty and just a bit different - I'm just hoping that they stay in as they are also backless, fingers crossed

And there we have it, an entire blog posted dedicated to my favourite colour. I hope you enjoyed this insight into the girly part of my brain, please venture back over here later on this week where I will no doubt have another random post for you all! Thank you so so much for taking the time to read and visit my posts, I really do appreciate it from the bottom of my glittery filled heart.

Lots of love, Katie xo
