My Everyday Makeup

Hello everyone! I've been doing a bit of gigging around recently on what makeup I've been wearing and I thought I would take a few pictures and pop them on here. The main thing I've changed up over the last year is my base - and in particular my foundation. I used to wear very matte foundations that covered everything and ended up looking very flat, however now I've moved over to a more dewy foundation, that I will tell all about later. I hope you enjoy!

Primer - So first things first I use MACs Fix+  to prime my skin after I put on my moisturiser. Now I know this is supposed to be used as a finishing spray, but I find it just adds a bit of hydration to my skin whilst not being too heavy like some primers are before my foundation. It is also fab to spray all over my makeup sponge before applying my foundation.

Foundation - Speaking of foundation, this is my new find! The It cosmetics CC Cream really is all it's made out to be!! It has so many benefits including being anti-ageing, hydrating and it has SPF 50 UVA/UVB, I mean what's not to like? I bought this the last time I was in London (in shade Light) as it has recently been released in Selfridges. I put it on in the morning and it was still fully on at 10pm that night when I got home from wandering around the town getting very hot and sweaty. Needless to say I was very impressed, so raved about to my mum, who then went out and bought it for herself. I would describe it as a medium to heavy coverage, so if I am looking for a sheer or light foundation I will usually just pop on my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser or MAC Barely There Foundation (I wear shade Light) which both do the trick.

Concealer - This is actually another new find for me. The Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer is my new favourite. I've always been a drugstore concealer lover and have never ventured out of Boots or Superdrug when it comes to my under eyes! This concealer is very hydrating and brightening for under eyes, however it does not contain any sparkles or shimmer so can be used on spots and imperfections too.

Highlighter - Before this one, I have never used a liquid highlighter, but I think I have been converted! The Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops have won my heart over. I have the colour Moonlight which is a gorgeous mix of highlight and bronze shades that gives a lovely summer glow on my none existent cheekbones!  You also only need the tiniest drop of these for one use, so it will definitely last a very very long time.

Powder - As I have moved away from heavy matte makeup, I ditched all of my previous powders and bought this one from Bourjois (again...). It's a very light, finely milled powder that I just use on my T-zone to set my concealer, to stop me getting very shiney (hello Oily Skin!). Now this is only for everyday, but if I was going out in the evening I would probably use a heavier powder such as Rimmel Stay Matte or my best friend has just introduced me to Laura Merciers Loose Setting Powder that I will no doubt be purchasing with my next paycheck!!

Blusher and Bronzer - Fun fact, I have only ever used Benefit blushers! I just love them and they last really really well on me. As you can see from the picture down below, Rockateur has been well loved and is well overdue a replacement...but I have also used Dandelion and Galifornia. They are all pink toned with Rockateur having a gold shimmer through it, Dandelion being slightly cool toned and Galifornia is more of a coral,  and perfect for summer! For bronzer I currently use Hoola by Benefit as well, however this can sometimes be a bit dark on me during the day, so I usually use Soap and Glorys Solar Powder (which I smashed this morning...woops!).

Eyebrows - When my eyebrows have been threaded and tinted, all I really use is a tinted eyebrow gel to hold them in place and stop then flying around in the wind. My gel of choice is L'Oreals Brow artist Plumper, which doesn't go clumpy or crispy and stays on all day. Just nice and simple!

Mascara - I recently ran out of my favourite mascara (Benefits Roller Lash) so I started a new one that I was given as a gift - Lancomes Hypnôse Doll Eyes. It gives you very full and fluttery lashes, however doesn't last as long on me, especially in the heat. But I'm still enjoying it and it also seems to be getting better as it drys up!

Eyeliner - During the day I'm not one to wear anything too heavy on my eyes, I save the eyeshadows and liquid liner for the evenings! But I do like to define my lower lash line every now and again. So I use MACs Teddy Eye Kohl along both my top and bottom lash lines and in the waterline. It is a bronzy brown soft eye pencil that compliments blue and green eyes perfectly.

So there you have it, all of the contents of my makeup bag that goes on my face on a regular basis. I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for giving it a read!

Lots of love, Katie xo
